To think of these brave men really makes me proud to be a Minnesotan. I can only imagine how awful it would have been at Gettysburg, and have so many soldiers around you dying. However, you have to think that these men knew how important it was to the Union and the country, that they had to hold their position. If the Civil War had a different ending result, our everyday lives would be so different. This is why the First Minnesota is very worthy of being a part of the MN 150 exhibit!
