The original building by the Walker Art Center. The first regional theater in the U.S. Made it possible for people to see the classics outside of New York on a thrust stage. The design of the theater itself was also important.

Tyrone Guthrie He brought professional theater in a big way to the Twin Cities and the state. What a transformation in the cultural scene his presence made. What a bold thought by one man - it is now known around the country for his major influence in midwestern theater.

I would really like to make a nomination for especially the arts and the Guthrie. I just get so excited about how amazing the Twin Cities actually is as a center for the arts and architecture-such as the Guthrie. I think it would be fantastic to share this information with others who may not be as familiar with it, in fact, I would love to learn more about these too.
