They invented the Digital Telephone Dialer in 1968 in St. Paul, which became, and still is, the means used to communicate burglar alarm signals worldwide from the protected premises to the burglar alarm companies. The invention was soon adapted by credit card companies to enable merchants to swipe the card through and transmit the purchase to the credit card issuer thus replacing the old card imprinted paper method.
