I think that if you showed people pictures of the James J. Hill House, the governor's mansion, and the Frankson Mansion or Lion House, more people would recognize the Lion House as a familiar place they've seen or walked by. Hundreds of children visit or climb on these lion statues outside our home here on Midway Parkway. Thomas Frankson also owned the buffalo that were donated to Como Zoo. He bought and developed this lovely neighborhood sandwiched between Como Park and the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. He named many of St. Paul's streets in this neighborhood.
