Louise Sundin was the president of MFT 59, Minneapolis Federation of Teachers. She guided us through thick and thin, helped to keep the teachers accountable for out-teaching before it was cool or MANDATED. She brought St. Thomas University to the Union hall. Their teachers were closer to work and they were able to get through the Cohort MASTER's Program within reasonable time and for reasonable money, with other teachers within the district facing the same challenges. Now the percentage of teacher with master's degrees is higher than those without. This is not only good for teachers but serves the children of Minneapolis well. There is a list of good things that Louise has done to serve and recruit those that serve the Minneapolis School District. We have many FIRSTS in the nation thanks to Louise.
