Lou Bellamy

Mr. Lou Bellamy has been an advocate for his community, as well as the power of the arts, by creating the Penumbra Theatre in an affected area of St. Paul. He remained true to his mission and his neighbors for thirty years. He brings a true message and shares a unique voice with the world at large. The Penumbra Theatre Company is respected throughout the nation as a preeminent African-American production source. I feel that the work of Lou Bellamy is an under-recognized asset to this state and our self-awareness.
