Leo Albrecht has provided a wealth of historical information for many people throughout our community. Mr. Albrecht has written a 400-page history of Belle Plaine, MN starting with the founding of our city by Minnesota Territorial Judge Andrew G. Chatfield in 1854. This in-depth, pictorial, factual book was completed by Leo Albrecht for Belle Plaine's Sesquicentennial celebration in 2004. Mr. Albrecht serves as our city's historian. He has a complete library of photographs and information of families that he is willing to share with descendants who are in search of their ancestry. The City of Belle Plaine is fortunate to have Leo Albrecht as a resident and we appreciate his dedication to preserving our history. We proudly nominate Leo Albrecht for the MN150 exhibit because of his extreme generosity, knowledge, and willingness to compile and share information abour our heritage.
