After returning to Minnesota, he ended up being a detective in Hennepin county solving crimes and serving and protecting the community that he loved. What is amazing is what Joseph did after he retired. He became a candymaker. In his retirement, Joseph became known as the candymaking cop. He made candy for his family and friends and his daughter made a recipe book of some of Joe's favorite recipes. His life was truly an impact to the country, the state and especially his community.
