In 1965, Iva Miller, my mother, created a kiddie parade outfit for me out of Clara City Creamery milk cartons for Clara City Dairy Days. In 1966, the Minnesota Dairy Association adopted her dress idea to make the first butter carton dress to be worn by Karen Bracken, Princess Kay of the Milky Way. When Karen presided over Clara City Dairy Days in 1966, I was asked to have my photo taken with her in my mom's second creation, a butter carton formal with matching crown. This photo and article, of which I have a copy, appeared in the Clara City Herald in July, 1966. I still have the dress, and would be happy to donate it to the society.
