A New York investor who at one time owned almost 15,000 acres of land, 7,000 in Chisago County. In St. Paul, he had named after him: a street, a large building on Kellogg and most of Harriet Island. Little is known of him as much of this activity occurred at just pre-statehood. He was important to Chisago City, Minnesota. According to some records, he built the first territorial road between Wyoming and Chisago City.
