Though Hy Berman is a teacher by profession and by nature, he doesn't lecture or forcefully teach. Instead, he brings history to life with his gentle, humorous style. While talking about the state's history, he adds insight via his life's history. He may not be considered properly a historical figure, but he is a figure full of Minnesota's history.
