Helen Hoover - The Gift of the Deer

This and her other writings pioneered the idea of wildlife as individuals deserving individual attention, not commodities to be exploited, used up, and thrown away. All her books are now republished in the University of Minnesota's Heritage series. The sporting crowd, who often complain Bambi lovers don't understand them, need to study these works and understand us.
