Evelyn Raymond was instrumental in promoting a place for women in the arts, both in MN and beyond, through her work in the WPA, the beginnings of the Walker Art Center, and at MN institutions. Her work as a monumental sculptor provided a role model for other women interested in sculpture, and she taught in MN for many years. My great aunt Alice Holen was one of her students. I know her archive came to the history center, so there certainly are resources for including her.
