Born in Willow River, Mn on June 11, 1903. Played for the Duluth Eskimos, which was changed by owner Ole Huges Rude to Ernie Nevers Eskimos. His star power helped the NFL from going broke. In 1963 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
