This Catholic college for women was established over 100 years ago and has educated women in the arts, sciences and other areas with a faculty that reflects the student body...Many women with advanced degrees were role models for the student body. It was not unheard of to have a woman instructor who was educated at Oxford or some othe prestigious university. At one time looked at as a folly by the then Archbishop of St. Paul The college of St. Catherine today remains one of the premier higher education institutions in the country.
Since 1905 - women's college. Mother Antonia started the college when others said that women could not handle college studies.
Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1905, the College of St. Catherine has been educating women to lead and influence for more than a century. Committed to excellence and opportunity, St. Kate's prepares graduates to demonstrate ethical leadership grounded in social responsibility.
