Arvid Peterson was a baker and Swedish immigrant to St. Paul who, in 1899, began to make Scandinavian flat bread from rye and corn bran, mostly for other immigrants in St. Paul. From these beginnings came Rye-Krisp crackers, which are still made in southeast Minneapolis at 824 6th Ave SE.
