Arne served our country during W.W.II. After the war he returned to his wife and two children. In the ensuing years my mom and dad added to the family to the tune of seven total. In addition to raising a large family Arne also served his church. As a member of Christ Lutheran Church on Capitol Hill he served in as many ways as he could. In the years before there were many dedicated groups to serving the people that society called mentally disabled, my father thought that these members of Christ Lutheran Church should have the same opportunities as other children and adults. Despite initial resistance from the congregation he created and taught a confirmation class for these children and young adults. There was no prouder day in his life than to see his kids confirmed into the Church.
