Mr. Cassius all his life fought and worked for equality for his race. He started a waiters' union while working at the Curtis Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. He was the first black man to obtain a business loan from a local bank to start a restaurant where blacks could feel welcome. He was truly well-respected.
